The start of 2019 has been a busy time for the Humphris Rallysport  Team. We decided to run a wide track Micra in the BTRDA 1400 Championship for Dominic Hodge and Stefan Arndt .

This particular Wide Track Micra had last won the BTRDA 1400 Rally Championship back in 2001 and since then it had only been used a few times before it had a slight accident ending up on its side. The car was then put into storage and repair work carried out over a number of years as and when time allowed.

The Micra now has a new 1348cc engine, Dog Gear box and an experimental plenum chamber inlet manifold. The new inlet manifold moved the car from the 1400C class to the 1400S class so we would be competing with cars that have up to 50+ bhp more power, sequential gear boxes and 3 way adjustable suspension, also costing a lot more money than our Micra. This would make it almost impossible to win the class but we could still have a good battle in the middle of the field. Having had good results in 2016/17 on the SPAX suspension we decided to stick with the SPAX dampers.

We have also been asked to help run another Wide Track Micra in the 1400C  Championship. This Micra is supported by Ripples Bathrooms in Newbury and is driven by the owner Richard Garnett and co driven by Rob Gilham.
